Guardiola downplays Manchester City move

Despite the unending rumours that he might be on his way to Manchester City, Bayern Munich manager, Pep Guardiola has maintained that he currently has no intentions to leave the German champions at the end of this season. The manager who insists that he is very happy with the conditions at the Allianz Arena believes that the rumours about his impending move to the Etihad is been peddled by mischief makers.

The former Barcelona boss has a contract that ties him with the Munich based club until May 2016 but since when negotiations over an extension stalled many observers have begun to speculate a possible move out of the Bundesliga and with Manchester City constantly monitoring the gaffer, it seems only logical that he’d be linked to the Arab spenders.

Despite interest from the English champions, Guardiola has stressed in no light terms that at least for the nearest future, he will remain at Bayern and in fact maintained that he has not been in contact with any other club.

During a recent press conference, the Bayern boss revealed that he would like to stay at Bayern indicating that he might just be bidding his time before committing to another contract at the end of the season as against the much broadcasted, Manchester City move. Further explaining the situations surrounding his current job, the Spaniard stated that he still has a contract with the German outfit and he has to respect that.

Guardiola who moved from being Barcelona boss to Bayern Munich about two seasons ago has since then led the German’s to a domestic double, a European Super Cup as well the much coveted Club World Cup all in his first season with the club.

As Bayern are currently atop of the Bundesliga, the gaffer has nothing to make him feel worried as much as to quit his job so unless Manchester City break the bank as usual, this manager isn’t leaving Germany anytime soon.
